Morné Theunissen is a South African filmmaker and writer with over 25 years of experience telling stories that matter. His work spans feature films, documentaries, and animated productions that have reached hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, exploring themes of faith, transformation, and purpose.
He's traveled across five continents capturing authentic stories of real people living lives of meaning — always asking the same question: How does this story connect us to something bigger than ourselves? He's also co-authored inspirational books, because for him, storytelling isn't limited to one medium.
Before filmmaking, Morné served as a missionary with Youth With a Mission (YWAM), an experience that grounded his creative work in the belief that stories can inspire, challenge, and point people toward hope.

"Frank was my father, and more than that — my hero.
He was a master storyteller, the kind who could hold a room spellbound with tales he made up on the spot. In our church community, Dad became something of a legend. Parents would bring their kids just to hear "Uncle Frank" tell stories at Sunday School — original, imaginative, always leading somewhere meaningful. Every story pointed to Jesus, but it never felt heavy-handed. He had a gift for making truth feel like an adventure. At night before bedtime or on long rides in the family car, young me would be transported into the worlds of imagination shaped by my father's stories.
Though as a young man he lost most of his sight in a motorcycle accident, Dad saw more clearly than most. He loved God deeply, had a heart for people far from faith, and never missed a chance to share the gospel — whether with old friends or complete strangers.
As a boy, I would ride on my father's shoulders. "You need to be my eyes," he would say. Now, years into filmmaking, and writing, I still feels like that boy — carrying forward the vision my father saw so clearly."
